Week 6 Power Rankings

Huge changes in the top of the league this week!

11. Booth (-)
I'd love to move Booth up in the rankings, but sadly I cannot. Their game this week against Strauss was a close one, and when they lost it really tugged on the heartstrings of us writers here at the Blog. This seemed to slowly go downhill when Matt "Bo" Cota was subbed out. If they can compete with a Team like Strauss then we are sure that they will have some prosperity in their future.

10. Sellers (-)
Sellers remains winless. Despite playing a good game with constant back and forths, they were still handed a sizeable L in week 5. This team has the potential to be a top talent, but for some reason, they just can't seem to get it 100% together. Reports tell me that during points in the game Team Jarboe's Andrew Watkins was allowed to take multiple open three-pointers (and yes he did hit them). We can't seem to figure out what's going on with Sellers so we're hoping that they have the answer.

9. Willson/Dzwonek (-)
Another week and another loss for Team Willson. Although they did not have their prime defender Ben Rivet, they were equipped with golf lords James and Ivan and splash enthusiast Stevie D. We understand that they probably wanted to take a step back and chuckle at The Hank, but apparently he is "kinda nice" (I still don't buy it). Let's hope that Ben shows up to the next game and that Willson can claim a win against the young Team Strauss.

8. McNamara (-4)
When Kasey and Jackson don't show up to a game you can assume it's going to be a bit of a struggle to get a win. After a huge win against Team Manzi in the week prior, McNamara unwillingly accepted a loss against the slowly rising Team KK. After telling me that he was "going to go off dood", senior leader Kasey "Borsque" Griffiths was nowhere to be found Sunday morning. Perhaps he had too many taquitos on Saturday. This squad has the capability to dominate the league, but that requires the whole group to show up and play like a team.

7. Manzi (-1)
Team Manzi had a bye week but I still have to drop them down one spot. Hopefully, Coach Manzi can get the lead out and get his team back on the right track.

6. Keast/Kimetto (+2)
Team KK is on the rise. After their second straight win, they have every right to be feeling good about themselves. Team vagabond Jeremy Keast has been balling and carrying the team on his back and it is paying off. It seems that when their mosquito of a player, Casto, doesn't show up their chances to win increase tenfold. I'd like to give a little hypothesis to the readers of the Blog. IF Casto keeps not showing up, THEN Team KK will keep winning, BECAUSE Casto's only skill is talking trash with absolutely nothing to back it up.

5. Hastings (-4)
This is the lowest Hastings has been ranked all year. Part of that is due to two of their last three games being losses. We aren't taking away from any of the talents of Team Hastings it is clear that they need to figure out what they were doing right at the beginning of the season after going 3-0 and implement that back into their game. It is doubtful that they will remain this low as the season progresses.

4. Townsend (+1)
Week by week this team has been climbing the power rankings and into our nightmares. They've really been on a hot streak winning their past three games after going 0-2 to start the season. Whether it's Plausse's ability to take over a game, Nate's unmatched intensity, or Nick Perry's limitless range, these team is doing something right. As a side note, Hank does not completely stink at the game of basketball, his jump shot is the grossest in the league though. Stick to layups Hankasaur.

3. Southwick (+4)
Let me begin this by saying that I am completely unbiased in this write up of Team Southwick. Wow, a 33 point win over Team Hastings? I said sure. Everyone on this team must have been infuriated at the buzzer beater loss in last weeks game because they came to play this week. It also seems that team captain (and close personal friend of mine) Lil YungDad has slowly been playing less and coaching more. Thanks to his expert, cutthroat coaching against Hastings, they have moved up four spots in the rankings. If they play like that every game then I fully expect the knees of every other team to quiver when they see Team Southwick as their matchup.

2. Strauss (-1)
If not for barely scraping by the last team in our rankings, I'd give Strauss the number 1 spot. There isn't much to add that hasn't already been said about this team. Hopefully, they can use their next game against Team Willson to get back into their dominant style and reclaim the throne at the top.

1. Jarboe (+2)
As much as it pains me to do it, we have a new #1 in the league right now. Team Jarboe. This team has been filleting the competition, and they are now one of the only two 4-1 teams left in the league. Although their offense might not be number one, it is without a doubt that they are one of the most defensively talented teams in the league. Don't get me wrong they are a team of good-hearted kids. I'm a huge fan of Max "The Tummy" Jarboe and Colin "Colon" TeDuits, but something about that meerkat bloke just really irks us writers here at the blog. Nonetheless, great job Team Jarboe.
