Week 5 Results

Strauss vs. Gingras
60-44
I've been told this Strauss team doesn't win pretty, well that seemed like a pretty game to me. Team Gingras didn't play like a team that lost by 17, it was more of just great ball movement and true team play from Team Strauss that led them to the win. Also S/O to Om Naik who got on the scoreboard today and his best game so far this season.

Manzi vs. Meyers
61-27
I mean was anyone expecting any different? Maybe less a blowout, but when a winless team without a few of their players and an almost fully loaded undefeated team matchup, this is usually what the score looks like.

Booth vs. Bernard/Hastings
36-32
At halftime coach after a 10 point deficit Coach Booth told me "It's okay we're always better in the second half" and she wasn't wrong. They battled back and tied it up with two minutes left. Team Bernard though stayed calm and composed and through some really strong hustle plays, were able to stop the comeback kids from a comeback.

TeDuits/Estes vs. Hecht
54-28
The Dan DeBinder loss was really big for Team Hecht. It really wasn't the exciting team we've seen for the past two weeks so I'm hoping they can find their mojo back. As for Team TeDuits/Estes, they really played a solid game top to bottom. This is exactly what they needed to turn things around.

Zolomon vs. O'Wiley
65-59 (OT)
Easily the game of the year to this point. O'Wiley came back from 13 points down to send this game into overtime. Then Sam Budreau decided he wasn't done going off in regulation and went off a little more in overtime. Team Zolomon played a far better game than last week, but in the end Team O'Wiley gutted it out

Southwick vs. McNamara
54-42
Wasn't able to see this game, but from all indications Elias really balled out and ran away with this one. McNamara seemed to be improving but they got bested to solid team this week.

Baller of the Week 5

Baller of the Week

Winner: Sam Budreau - 34 Points, game tying shot with 7 seconds left, OT win. Yeah he played okay. Crazy game for Sam leading his team to a 13 point comeback and  a huge win for them through late game heroics. Well done

Runner up: Elias Jiser - He scored 27 off of some really hot shooting. He shared the ball as well and played a very complete game. Baring the ridiculous of Sam, he would have been the clear the choice, and would have gotten it pretty much every other week, so take this as "Honorable Runner-Up"

Honorable Mentions: Ok get ready because there are a lot, y'all balled out.
Jack Blount: 17 Points, a lot of rebounds, and a few really tough finishes
Max Phonard: 20 Points, along with some great passes and a few deep threes
Kasey Griffiths: 19 points in a domiantion
Kyle Plausse: Followed up his star powered day with 16 more
Eddie Hastings: 15 Points and two unbelievably clutch rebounds
Garrett Solomon: 16 Points and a crazy deep clutch three

Comparing Every Rec Ball Team to A 17-18 NBA Team

To offer my condolences for being late on the power rankings, here's a little something just for fun.

Strauss - Detroit Pistons: They play great defense, but below average offense. Very team reliant and chemistry built and they are capable of beating anyone and losing to anyone. Sometimes they win ugly, but they get the job done more often than not.

Bernard/Hastings - Philadelphia 76ers: They don't blow teams and they don't get blown out, they play to the level of their competition and rebound the ball well. They struggle a little with chemistry right now but they're starting to figure it out.

Zolomon - Minnesota Timberwolves: They have the star power and the tools to be great, they just aren't really utilizing them to their full potential yet. They can and will be lethal if they can figure themselves out.

TeDuits/Estes - Washington Wizards: They have the tools and pieces to be dominant and they've shown flashes of what they can be, but they haven't put it all together yet.

Booth - San Antonio Spurs: It's kind of hard what exactly they're doing right, they just kind of are. The elite team play and great rebounding carries them to success.

Manzi - Houston Rockets: They play really well together and they are only one of few teas that plays great both sides of the ball. Understandable based on how they are playing on why they are on the top of the league.

McNamara - Miami Heat: On the defensive end they look fine, great even. It's just their struggling on offense right now and trying to figure their identity right now and how they are going to win games.

O'Wiley - Denver Nuggets: Despite missing a star, they are still able to work with what they have on a weekly basis, and are able to play solid despite having to deal with missing people on the court.

Gingras - Oklahoma City Thunder: They're playing solid, and they have the roster to succeed, but in the early going they have kind of underwhelmed.

Southwick - Portland Trail Blazers: Very reliant on shooting, and it all depends on which teams shows up to determine their success. They have a different identity week to week, and while slightly underwhelming, they are showing flashes of success.

Meyers - New Orleans Pelicans: Powered by their star players, they've played okay, but they haven't won the amount of games they should. The depth they have will have to step up in order for them to be long term successful.

Hecht -  Indiana Pacers: Despite the slow start, they have found a niche and are starting to play great as a team. They can attack teams weaknesses as well hide their own through solid play on both ends of the floor.

Majkut - Milwaukee Bucks: They're big, and they play big. Andrew Berube shares a lot of similarities to Giannis Antetokounmpo, and they win the games they're supposed to lose and lose the games they're supposed to win.

Week 5 Power Rankings

Power Rankings

I do apologize for the delay, I've been surprisingly busy this week, but this shouldn't come out this late in the future, and anyway here you go. Shoutout to Jake Willard for giving me the idea to put records in the power rankings. I'm open to all suggestions and would love to hear them.

13. McNamara (-)
Record: 1-2
This team wasn't able to gain any ground in the quest for number one. This team can definitely play defense and haven't allowed more than 40 2/3 weeks. That's not bad. However it's the offensive end that's giving me worry. They look lost. They've now scored below 30 in the past two weeks and you don't win many games scoring under 30. They look like they're struggling long term to put the ball in the hoop and they'll need to make a major change to turn their season around. I believe they have the playmakers to turn it around, they just need some more chemistry and more execution. I expect this team to struggle for a few more weeks, but really kick it up toward the end of the year. Peter White's injury is tough on them, but his recovery could play a huge role in their turn around.

12. Meyers (-1)
Record: 0-3
Despite being one of two winless teams in the league, it's defiantly in part due to a tough schedule. Also the difference between their play in the first half compared to the second half is night and day. In the first half they allowed their opponent to score at ease and didn't do much on the offensive end as well. Then I don't know what these coaches said at halftime, but it sparked new life into them. They got better and better as the half progressed, and nearly mounted a crazy comeback in the final minute. Honestly if they can continue that level of play, they'll be a top 5 team moving forward, but until we see a consistent start to finish game out of them, they'll sit near the bottom of these rankings.

11. Gingras (+1)
Record: 0-3
Believe it or not, despite being the only other team with a 0 in the win column, I wanted to bump them up higher than this. Two of their three games were very well fought, and they are also a Kyle Plausse away from being 1-2. They played to their identity last week, by thriving under the glass. Rebounding and scoring doesn't seem to be an issue for them, it's more defensive that seems to be the achilles heel. They actually played a solid defensive first half, but the second half was far weaker. I can see them going way up this list, and as their schedule starts to smooth out, they should be in a lot better shape. The rank of 11 actually says a lot more about the teams above them than it does about themselves.

10. Teduits/Estes (-1)
Record: 1-2
It's weird to have them drop after not playing. I didn't want to do it, but I couldn't have Southwick drop after getting a solid win. Despite not playing they've played some solid teams in the early and should be trending upwards. I wouldn't be surprised if this is their last time appearing with a double digit ranking next to their name. The return of 100% Bradley TeDuits is crucial and we'll see if they can pick up some momentum after the bye.

9. Southwick (-)
Record: 1-3
I really wanted to move this up, but again it says more about the teams above them than their play themselves. Despite missing a lot of key players they were still able to play as a team and grind out a W. They played lights out defensively, and proved me wrong by being able to get a win when they didn't shoot particularly well. Their rebounding was horrible, but that was expected as literally all of their size was missing. We still haven't seen this team in "midseason" form, as they haven't had a game where all of their players show up, aside from the first game. If they can continue the team play they showed last week, they'll be a lot higher than the 9 spot.

8. O'Wiley (-2)
Record: 2-2
I don't want to them too far, yes they had kind of an ugly game last week, but I'm more looking at this team as a whole, and they were missing two key players. They actually played a very strong game with a top tier team, in the first half, and it could have gone either way. The second half however, they struggled to score and looked like a team that was missing some players. They played to strengths well rebounding the ball great, however they really struggled scoring the ball and creating shots for themselves. They're still kind of a mystery to me as we haven't seen them with all of their pieces either, but for now they'll sit right in the middle with room to move up and room to move down.

7. Bernard/Hastings (-3)
Record: 2-2
So this team is confusing. There's no other way around it. Yes they were missing a big time player, but it's amazing how they play equal to their competition every week. To be fair they played solid last week, and probably out played the competition last week, but they couldn't get the lid of their basket until the second half of the second half. They played solid defense and got more offensive rebounds than any team I have ever seen lose a basketball game. The shot selection was solid and in all honesty they played a decently well rounded game of basketball. We'll see if they can finally completely outplay another team, but the middle is perfect for them as they play equal to every team they play.

6. Zolomon (-4)
Record: 3-1
Wow... that last game was... um... well I'm not going to go any further it was ugly. The big question is was it a fluke or is there a problem. I'm leaning toward fluke as they have played spectacular in the first three weeks. However last game the shot selection was horrible. This star studded offense only was able to put up 21 points and they let up 30 more on the other end. Yes they were missing some key players, but that doesn't make up for 30 points on the other end. The two coaches on this team have to play better as they combined for 4 points on about 45 shots. Last week I called out Team Majkut and they delivered. Now I'm calling my own team out, prove we're the real deal against O'Wiley! Put up or shut up.

5. Hecht (+5)
Record: 2-2
It's amazing how much of a difference two weeks can make. I was ready to write to them off, I was ready to tell them it was it was time to hit the panic button. Thank god Coach is Hecht is better at coaching than I am, because this team looks powerful. I don't know if any of y'all watched this game, but aside from about the final two minutes they played amazing. They're playing great team defense and they're playing great as a team. Yes they blew a huge lead at the end of the game, and they will need to address that, but all in all they've looked great over the past two. Also I don't know the severity of the Dan DeBinder, but my best wishes go out to him. He played a heck of game, and he's a key piece to their success.

4. Strauss (+1)
Record: 3-1
This is another team I just haven't gotten a good look at yet. From all accounts though, the win wasn't pretty, but well deserved... if that makes any sense. They are able to compete with all of the teams they've played so far, and while the schedule hasn't been all that daunting, these freshmen have been able to compete with everyone they've faced. I'll get a better chance to see them as they have an intriguing matchup with Gingras this upcoming week. They've been great defensively, but haven't been amazing on the offensive end. They're winning with strong team play, and that will guide them to wins in the future.

3. Majkut (+5)
Record: 2-2
Maybe I should call them out more often.... They played easily the best game they have all season, and maybe the best game of anyone all throughout the season. They were able to shut down some big time players while scoring at will. They played amazing on the defense and rebounded the ball so well. The best part well, this was the best game they've played as a team. They shared the ball and everyone got involved in the offense. I'd call them out again and see if they can get to number one, but for the sake of the league I'm not going to do that. If they can keep up that level of play they will be the preseason threat we all thought they were.

2. Booth (+1)
Record: 4-0
I've been informed that in my predictions I'm yet to predict them getting a win. Well all that means is I'm 0-4 in predicting their games, so maybe I should keep it up so y'all can keep proving me wrong. I've noticed after the first half they start playing elite defense. They've held team to single digit second halves in three of their 4 games. They also can rebound the daylight out of the ball, and won the battle against another team full of big rebounders. They hustle and share the ball well, and they've found success. Even though they haven't won pretty in all of their games, they have been able to win and win convincingly. The game against Bernard will be a very interesting test for them.

1. Manzi (-)
Record: 4-0
What do you want me to say? I mean they're number 1, it was an easy choice, and they've looked almost elite. I will say this so every other team who plays them has hope. They were down 12 before Kyle Plausse decided to become Stephan Curry, that won't happen every game. ( Nothing personal, I just don't even think that's humanly possible ). And without this performance who knows what would have happened. Yes they've been elite on both sides of the ball, but they aren't invincible. We'll see if Meyers can pull a monumental upset.

Week 4 Results

Southwick vs. Bernard
31-28
I don't want to discredit Team Southwick, but they got outplayed in this one. Team Bernard just didn't shoot the ball well. They rebounded tremendously and gave themselves opportunities, that they just couldn't finish. Still Southwick was missing all of their size and grinded a win out. Props to them.

Booth vs. O'Wiley
41-32
I just realized I am yet to predict this team to win. That means I am now 0-4 in predicting their games. It wasn't the prettiest of games, and O'Wiley was missing two key players, but a great defensive second half led Booth to the victory.

Zolomon vs. Majkut
51-21
So midway through the second half the cops had to show up after various reports of assault. Instead of charging team Majkut they actually just joined in. Needless to say one team played great and one team didn't. Team Majkut responded to the trash talk and killed it today so S/O to them.

Strauss vs. Mcnamara
35-26
I didn't get to see this game, but from all indications it wasn't pretty for either team. However Strauss did what they do best and won with a comfortable margin.

Meyers vs. Hecht
50-46
So this game with a minute left was I think a 9 point deficit and seemingly out of hand. Then out of no where Meyers hit a few big shots and cut it to 3. They ended up coming up short in their comeback effort, but Meyers played a very solid second half, and Hecht proved last week wasn't a fluke.

Manzi vs. Gingras
54-45
If Kyle was able to hit the shot for the perfect half I would have gotten this score 100% correct. That being said Gingras led all up until halfway through the second half, then Kyle took Michael Jordan's secret stuff and balled out. Gingras played great I wouldn't hang my head if I were them.

Baller of the Week 4

Baller of the Week

Winner: Kyle Plausse - So what Kyle did in the second half of this game would have left Steph Curry in awe, after being shut out in the first half, he responded by scoring 25 in the second half, going 7/7 from three and 8/9 (and the miss was an open layup, but it's very excused nevertheless). I repeat this was all in the second half. More importantly when his team was down by 12 he himself went on a 14-0 run to give them the lead. Crazy game, easily the early performance of the year.

Runner Up: Kyle Plausse - This isn't a typo he just deserves to mentioned twice

Honorable Mentions:
Simon Chandler: 14 Points and a key steal and free throws to help ice the game
James Wilson: 14 Points and two Jimmer range threes
Dougie Thompkins: 16 Points however this game went on the same as mine so I can't elaborate.
David Meyers: 15 Points all in second half, and almost led a crazy comeback.
Luke Llodra: 16 Points, he followed up his baller of the week with another masterful performance
Jake Scharn - 14 Points and very solid defense
Drew Stone - 15 Points, eh what's new

Also shoutout to Matt Carroll, this isn't because of his performance at all, but he asked for a shoutout so here you go bud.

Week 4 Predictions

Predictions

Bernard vs. Southwick
41-37
As usual Team Bernard will play down to level of their competition, and they will grind out a win. The Elias, Stoney matchup is intriguing and win be fun to watch. In order for Southwick to win they'll have to shoot the daylights out of the ball. I lean toward Bernard.

Booth vs. O'Wiley
44-40
The early window has two strong games, and I'm going with the upset here. O'Wiley has played great defense and it might be too much for Booth to handle. Both of these teams rely on rebounding, and whoever wins the rebounding battle should end up on top. I like O'Wiley in this one in a close game.

Majkut vs. Zolomon
61-49
There's been a lot of trash talk between these two teams and now it finally will unfold. Team Zolomon as long as they are at full strength can be a lethal offensive team. I think it'll be close until about the last 5 minutes, but Majkut won't be able to keep up with the fast pace offense for the full 32 minutes.

Strauss vs. McNamara
48-39
Team Strauss has played great throughout the season, while McNamara hasn't seen their best days. I think the pure chemistry of Strauss will overpower the star power of McNamara and lead them to a convincing win.

Hecht vs. Meyers
51-39
I don't know if anyone watched team Hecht play last week, but they looked like a completely different team than the last two weeks. I expect them to continue that same level of play this week. Team Meyers is coming off a bye, and will need to play their best if they want the win. Team Hecht has a big opportunity to prove they weren't a fluke, and Meyers has a chance to turn their season around.

Manzi vs. Gingras
56-45
I think team Gingras has a bounce back week, but it won't be enough as this Mazni team is playing too well to bet against. The Max Phonard, Nate Townsend matchup is intriguing, and may tell the story of this game. If team Gingras wants this win, they'll need to rebound the ball a little better.

Power Rankings

Week 4 Power Rankings

A lot of close games this weekend made things very interesting for this week, well let's dive right in y'all don't care about the introduction anyway.

13. McNamara (-4)
It really wasn't their best game today. Yes they were missing Peter White who is a huge difference maker for them, but without him the offense and defense looked lost. They did have a stretch early on in the second half where they showed a lot of promise, but then the second half of the second half happened where they were outscored 24- 6. Consistency will be a key for them, because at times today they looked really good, but at others it was ugly. They definitely have potential to rise right back, and I am still yet to see this team at their best, but after today they have a lot of work to do if they want to contend for the title.

12. Gingras (-4)
Tough loss for them today. On offense they played a solid game and rebounded the ball very well, however Team Hecht who hasn't been all that solid on offense all year was able to score at will. This is another team that in my opinion will rise sooner rather than later. Once they work the chemistry out they can be lethal. In their two games defense seems to be the problem. The offense ranks close to the top in the league so that's not really a problem so far.I think they'll be ok and they will only go up from here, but for now after an average performance today they reside at 12 spot.

11. Meyers (+1)
They didn't play this week, but hey enjoy the slight bump, they earned it. They didn't have any turnovers the entire time this week.

10. Hecht (+3)
They won today. Sometimes analysts say "It's more accurate to say the other team lost then to say they won" but that's not what happened today. Team Hecht played a great game, and has shown massive improvement from their first two games. They played well from start to finish and aside from a slightly rocky start, they played a very consistant game. Last game they came up just short, but this one they kept their composure and displayed some late game heroics. They're a team that's trending upwards, and hopefully they can maintain or maybe even improve this level of play.

9. Southwick (+2)
Despite missing a few players and losing a key player to injury this team still played a good team tough. Matthew Heinser really proved himself today playing great on both sides of the ball. They played their best offensive game all season and looked really good on the boards. Defensively they played sub par and that is this team's main issue as of now. They changed their identify to more of hybrid offense instead of a ride or die three point offense and that really worked to their advantage. This team is an enigma to me, and it'll be a few more games before they find a niche in these rankings.

8. Majkut (-2)
They were missing Andrew and Liam who are essential to their team, but in this is now two games in a row where they have underwhelmed. Maybe it's time to say this just isn't the preseason powerhouse we all thought they were. I want you to prove me wrong, please do, you even get a chance to do it against my team next week, but the fact is this team so far just hasn't been able to get it done. A loss to Booth isn't bad as they are a top tier team, but a loss to a struggling O'Wiley team is concerning. I think there is hope for this team, but they they need to figure out their identity and develop some chemistry that they just don't have right now.

7. TeDuits/Estes (-2)
For most teams a 16-0 hole to start the game and 27-6 halftime score is game over. To this team, that just means it's time to fight. I commend them for battling in the second half even though it was virtually impossible. They played really hard on both ends of the floor and they didn't play like the 7th best team in the second half. They played pesky defense and the shots weren't falling on offense. Playing Zolomon hasn't been to kind on team's rankings, but for this team, they didn't look bad in doing so. 7 will most likely as far as they drop as I see an upward trend for them moving forward.

6. O'Wiley (+4)
Great win for them today. They were playing without their star player, but many players stepped up today. Big shoutout to Tristan Naboicheck for proving today he's not only there for defense in his debut. They played like a team who's been playing together for a long time. The only reason they're not higher on this list is because of the unconvincing first two performances. I really liked what I saw today though on both ends of the floor. Overall if they continue to play at the level they did today, I believe they can make a run at the number one spot before the season comes to a close.

5. Strauss (-1)
I know they lost today and I know they're 1-2 but this 1-2 team has looked really strong in their first three. Maybe I shouldn't be calling them the freshman, but instead the comeback kids, because every game they're mounting serious comebacks. Today they came up just short, however their effort shouldn't go unnoticed. I haven't been able to get a really good look at them, as now twice they've played at the same time as me, however from what I've heard and the brief play that I've seen they look like they can really compete. Also I know Jack Barry is due for a monster game coming up I can feel it.

4. Bernard/Hastings (+3)
I really don't know what to make out of this team. They've played all three of their games down to the wire, and they beat a good team today, but it's just confusing to me. They just play to the level of their competition no matter who it is. If they can keep winning however, I can't drop them. Their offense hasn't been anything all that spectacular, scoring below 45 all 3 weeks, but defensively they've looked great and in crunchtime, they have been able to play exceptional. I'm still waiting however to see this team at their full strength because they haven't all of their player at any of their three games.

3. Booth (-)
Admittedly I didn't get the name of the interim head coach today, but he has a career record of 1-0 (Elias Sports Bureau). That being said it wasn't the prettiest of wins, but it was a win. They looked good in the paint and rebounded solidly again. They have an intriguing matchup against O'Wiley next week that will really but their paint and rebounding skills to the test. On both sides of the ball they're playing very solid, but not elite. This formula however has led to be one of three 3-0 so hats off to them for getting there so far. Overall I think this team should stay near the top for the remainder of the season.

2. Zolomon (-1)
Remember last week I said team Manzi did nothing wrong but I had to drop them a spot because Team Zolomon played so good. Well now I have to stay consistent and do the same thing. It's a good sign for them they were still able to come away with a win, without relying on deep shooting. They couldn't really play the fast break either due to only having 6 players, but they still managed a solid offensive day. This shows how much volume they have offensively and defensively they showed flashes of eliteness so if they can make that consistently they will run away with the title with ease.

1. Manzi (+1)
After a quick one week hiatus from the number spot, Team Manzi is right back. They really killed it today, and even with a minimal amount of players, they looked fantastic on both ends. Kyle Plausse made a case for himself as DPOY today, while they were able to stop their opponent from getting anything going. Despite the lack of dedication on this team, (50% practice attendance, 65% game attendance) they still are able to be an elite team in this league, and they are a very legitimate title contender.

Baller of The Week 3

Week 3

Winner: Luke Llodra (19) - Finished with 19 and hit a game winner for the teams first win, have a week Luke!

Runner up: Alex Sellers (20) - Lead scorer and rebounded like crazy, he really played a great game today.

Honorable Mentions:
Tristan Naboicheck (15) - And Tremendous Defense
Elias Jiser (13) - Also with about 15 rebounds and a good amount of assists
Kasey Griffiths (13) - Dominated the paint on defense and offense

Week 3 Results

Zolomon vs. Teduits/Estes
42-34
This game started out 16-0 in favor of Zolomon, and 27-6 at half. Teduits/Estes however slowly started to chip away and started to even look like they were going to win for a second. Zolomon looked human today, however they couldn't run their elite fast break due to their six players. Alex Sellers continued his dominance.

Strauss vs. Bernard
39-37
Not to completely brag about my prediction, but not only was I within three for both scores, but I got the story of the game completely right also. Bernard got out to a solid lead, Strauss came so close to gutting out a comeback, but in a two point after they lost to possession, they fouled, couldn't rebound, flagrant fouled, and fouled one more time and missed the rebound again. Great comeback effort nevertheless, as for Bernard solid win.

Booth vs. Southwick
46-42
Again within three on both scores, however this one I couldn't get the winner right. Hats off to Booth for getting the W, but there were some very questionable calls that defiantly affected the outcome of this game, not saying the outcome would have necessarily changed but the impact was there. Heck of a game, the lead was held by Booth all throughout and Southwick grinded it down, but couldn't quite finish.

Hecht vs. Gingras
44-42
Aye! Hecht was able to pull it out. Very close game all throughout. I said Hecht was one of those teams that would gradually get better, but today instead of a small step up they took a big step up. Luke Llodra hit a crazy clutch shot with 6 seconds to go and Mark DeBinder sealed it with a big time block. The play of the day had to be the Llodra jumper.

Manzi vs. McNamara
54-29
Manzi got off to a huge lead, then they kept the huge lead, then they extended it. Total domination in this one. Kasey Griffiths played another dominant game finishing with two and-1's. AS for McNamara, yes it was an ugly but they were missing a star player. Overall Manzi despite being the least committed team in the league has been playing really well.

Majkut vs. O'Wiley
56-47
Little bit of chippy game here, but a pretty good one too. O'Wiley was able to fend off any comeback attempt Majkut was trying to make. Sam Battles did his best Andrew Berube impersonation, but they weren't able to overcome. Majkut despite being the pre-season favorite now finds themselves losers of two straight.

Week 3 Predictions

TeDuits/Estes vs. Zoloman (Game of the Week)
60-49
Great matchup here. An elite offense and solid defense facing off against an elite defense and a solid offense. Team Zolomon has played more consistent through their first two however and should come away with the win.

Bernard/Hastings vs. Strauss
43-40
Intriguing matchup here as we could see the debuts of Vassell and Bono. These freshman rallied last week and looked elite in the last 10 minutes and I could see a similar situation in which they need another rally to comeback. However Bernard/Hastings is the better defensive team and they should give Strauss enough trouble to pick up the win.

Southwick vs. Booth
45-39
Booth has gutted out two wins and have beaten two solid teams, however I'm going with the upset here. Booth played a weak second half however and it'll be interesting to see if first half Booth or second half Booth shows up. I'm going with the upset here and saying Southwick shoots well this week.

Hecht vs. Gingras
53-49
This one may finish closer than you think. This is a battle of two underrated teams, but I give the edge to Gingras coming off the bye. Avi Jiv will make his debut which should give Gingras a boost. Team Hect his a team I can see constantly improving, and I think they will showcase that improvement today, but I believe Gingras will come away with the win.

Majkut vs. O’Wiley
41-37
This is a game of missing stars as Sam and Andrew will not suit up for their respective teams. I believe the defensive debut if Tristan Naboicheck should really help O'wiley and without Andrew this team will be looking for a new primary shot taker. Also Liam McDonough is a bigger absence than one might expect. I think O'Wiley will gut out a victory.

McNamara vs. Manzi
61-43
Team Manzi should pull away with a win. I am still yet to see McNamara play, however Manzi has done nothing for me to get me to predict them to lose. I wish I had more scouting on McNamara so this one is the one I'm least confident on, but Manzi looks to good to pick against.
