Scores: Week 1

Week one is in the books. I went 5-3 in the picks column, not a bad start. There were some big surprises this week, which means it's sure to be another exciting season! I'll have Baller of the Week up by tomorrow or Tuesday.

Werner 59 Debreceni 54
-Big games from Dustin McEvoy and Devin Goudey, as expected. Dustin had 20, but Devin led a ferocious second half comeback, erasing an 11 point halftime defecit. He's certainly a baller of the week candidate.

Wright 42 Stevens 36
-This was a very physical, fast paced game. Stevens got the first basket, but Wright kept a 4-8 point lead for the rest of the game. Ryan Sheehan played really well against heavy defensive pressure, and AJ Wright had at least 5 blocks.
-(On a side note, I would like to point out that the referees let this game get out of control. It turned into a football game. I refuse to say that the referees are ever the difference in the game, but we shot only two free throws, our first coming with just 2:52 left in the game. I'm not taking anything away from Team Wright, the referees were equally bad for both teams and Team Wright deserved to win, but I just think it's unfortunate that this was more of a melee than a basketball game).

Jarboe 56 Icenogle 22
-I scored 7 points off the bench in the second half, Ferro played well as the only offensive threat. Ben Icenogle did not play.

O'Malley 61 Calderan 50
Crazy game. Matt Hanagan had 25 points in the victory. Team O'Malley played the last 1:30 of the game with four players, after Zach Kondroski, Matt Hanagan, and Will Lamy all fouled out.

Stewart 39 Hegeman 36

MacLeod 65 Fotino 32
Dawson 41 DeLuca 30
Hill 46 Mahan 25

it was 15 points up at the half for werner and debrecini. devin and matt plausse started to make a lot of 3's. alex k could be a baller of the week, he drained 3 3's in less than 2 minutes and jumper

Liebolds 16 points certainly added to the destruction of team Stevens. But I still love you team Stevens.
