Power Rankings: Preseason

Finally! Here they are. You're 2010 GD Rec BBall Preseason Team Rankings. But of course, no one will agree completely with what I say, so leave a comment with your name and rankings. Then at the end of the season you can show everyone that you knew what you were talking about and I had no idea. I'll get a poll up here tomorrow along with some picks for this weekend's games.

1.) Dawson
They've played together forever. With few weaknesses and a very solid core, I think this is the year they win it all.
2.) Werner
Huff is a big sleeper and Plause is solid. With Goudey and Werner at guard they are solid both inside and outside.
3.) DeLuca
What they lack in size, they make up for in quickness. They are led by a coach of the year candidate. Much of their success depends on T-Beal's attendance.
4.) Calderan
Team Calderan is always hungry for a championship, so they're sure to be in contention. Longo was a steal and could be a difference maker.
5.) O'Malley
Hanagan and O'Malley are two great options at the guard spot, and Lamy is versatile. They are sure to be aggressive on D, and should benefit from a 9-player team.
6.) Fotino
The individual talent is certainly there, but their ultimate success will depend on how they play as a team. They looked lazy at practice, but Dan Tomany is sure to inspire them with his aggressive play.
7.) Jarboe
Wolfe and Modzelewski should drain threes all day, but I'm not sure how they'll do down low. When they are aggressive they'll be great, when they turn lazy I'm not so sure.
8.) Stewart
Mark Robinson is a big boy. No one in the league is big enough to stop him. But who is going to feed him the ball? The over/under for the number of regular season games Burkholz will show up to is 3.5. Needless to say there are a lot of questions...
9.) Debreceni
Dustin McEvoy. That is all.

10.) Stevens
Good old Team Stevens is pretty much the definition of average. They'll have to be aggressive to create fast-break scoring opportunities, and are sure to put in the best effort of any team. Plus they have me...
11.) Hegeman
The defending champions return to the court with their star player, Anthony Cotoni. Greg Naughton will surprise everyone by averaging a double-double, but Cam Finnell will have to step up his game with more assists from the point.
12.) MacLeod
Tynan MacLeod is great and Peter Georges is a good second point-guard, but besides T-Mac they really don't have any jump shooters. That being said, I'm sure they'll play great defense as MacLeod teams usually do, and win some low scoring games.
13.) Hill
Obviously the two Hill brothers will have to carry the load, but in a league where everyone plays equally I'm not sure that they have enough supplemental talent.
14.) Wright
They have a decent starting five, but they are guard heavy. It's unclear who their go-to guy will be, but Ryan Sheehan could play a big role.
15.) Icenogle
It's a little blurry as to who their number two option is, and they don't really have a true point guard to feed Icenogle down low. Ferro will need to step up.
16.) Mahan
Team Mahan is led by a solid top two of Tim Grove and Mike Shea, but the rest of the talent is lacking. Then again look what happened to the team that was ranked last in the preseason last year...

Ferro is a true point guard.

I predict a good season for team debercini based entirely on the fact that they have MVP candidate Henry "Baller" Shirshac.

Can't wait to see Stevens vs. Jarboe in my mind two best players in the league with Pete and Griffin.

Griffin is the best player in the league this year
