So funny thing about baller of the week this week, while I am very confident I have the right winners and runners up, I have absolutely no idea who scored how much, there were no scorers this week, I tried and I was uniquely terrible at it, anyway let's get down to the nitty gritty.
Winner: Charlie Willis/Derek Casuso - They did two completely different things, Charlie dropped 27 and was an absolute force in this game, being the biggest scorer in dethroning Mazni, and Derek may have only had 13 (Which is still really good, just not usually enough for baller of the week) however, he hit the two gutsiet free throws, maybe in rec ball regular season history. Down by 1 with no time on the clock against an undefeated team. Kids got ice in his veins and good for these two.
Runner up: Drew Stone - Unofficially but fairly confidently he had 31 points and dropped more than 60% of team Bernards points in a big win for them.
Honorable mentions: So this is when it's going to get messy, there will be point ranges, and there will be forgotten people who deserve a mention, again I am terribly sorry about this.
Bradley and Ryan Teduits - They both had 18 points leading team TeDuits to another win, and firming up a possible 3 seed.
Alex Bushnell - 9-50 points, sorry man I didn't see the game I just heard he balled out, and hit shots lights out.
Alex Sellers - 15-35 points and an aggressive amount of rebounds.
Will Zimmon - 13-21 points, and played solid a solid substitute in the absence of a star player
Riley Curran - 14-22 points and came up big in the clutch leading his team to a win
Avi Somethingwhocares - 17 points and 5 threes
Jared Phelps - 9 points on laser shooting behind the arc
Justin Kava.... - 14-20 points in almost leading an upset
Kyle Plausse - 23-27 points and almost had a game winner before the infamous Caruso free throws
Kasey Griffiths - 15-24 points and dominated the paint
Peter Eldredge - 4-12 points and 13-94 rebounds

Week 12 Results
TeDuits/Estes vs. Meyers
65-54
So nevermind about debut 2 of Joey Femia, but this game was actually closer than expected, then again the score doesn't really tell the complete story, TeDuits/Estes still won very comfortably. Meyers has one more shot next week to pick up that first win, but I think we all had a fair idea in our mind that this week wouldn't be their week as Team Estes/TeDuits is for real.
Zolomon vs. Bernard/Hastings
50-45
This was actually an incredibly competitive game. Zolomon had 5 players, but has that ever not happened? It wasn't a total mismatch though Bernard/Hastings only had 6. Buzzer to buzzer both teams showed extreme heart and in the end Bernard/Hastings press proved to be too much for Team Zolomon.
Gingras vs. Majkut
55-52
First of all my deepest condolences for the worst clock work possibly in rec ball history, to be fair it was my debut and I was alone, but nevertheless, it was ugly, and I am sorry. The game itself however was far more pretty. Team Majkut would pull up with 8 or 9 point leads and Team Majkut would just cut them down immediately. They made an amazing run at the end of the game and came up just short as Majkut just held on to the win.
O'Wiley vs. McNamara
47-29
I didn't get to see this one, but from the score it's fair to assume that O'Wiley was able to play defense on an elite level. Team McNamara has looked like an offensive revelation in the past three games, but today they haven't tapped into what they have in the past few weeks. OWiley is starting to find their rhythm and are looking like a top tier playoff team.
Strauss vs. Hecht
62-43
So I said I had a gut feeling about team Hecht, I think I jinxed them. Team Strauss found their stride again which they haven't had over the past few weeks, and they proved they are also a legitimate contender. Team Hecht has shown some fight this year, but haven't been consistent in three straight games all season, hopefully they can find it in the playoffs.
Booth vs. Manzi
51-50
I pinched myself plural times. I went to a pig breeder and tossed one air, it flew so now I didn't get an animal cruelty charge. I don't think this happened, I don't think this is real. Booth was missing plural Booths and Andrew Door. There is no logical reason they should have won, that being said, they did and proved they're for real. The game was fantastic, and was close all throughout. Kyle Plausse hit a layup with 8 seconds left to push the score to 50-49, but as time expired Derek Caruso drove and got to the free throw line. Then after two ice cold free throws Manzi's perfect season ended. S/o to this team because they've been proving me wrong all year, and did in in the of 29 points off of what I predicted.

Week 12 Predictions
Meyers vs. Estes/Teduits
47-40
The long awaited second of debut of Joey Femia will be spoiled by the tenacious defense of team Estes/TeDuits. There's been a lot of trash talk between both sides, and while I believe Femia will prove himself, the defense will be too much to handle as Team Meyers will scrape out whatever offense they can get.
Bernard/Hastings vs. Zolomon
55-53
Two reasons I'm leaning this way, 1.The Zolomon team is red hot and have proven they can beat top tier teams, and 2. These two teams practiced together and Zolomon generally had the edge. That being said Bernard/Hastings is a completely different animal, than they were before. These two teams are very similar in play style and we should see a spectacular game.
Gingras vs Majkut
47-43
This is surprisingly interesting matchup. Team Majkut has been all over the place this season and it's hard to say which Majkut team is actually going to show up. On the other hand, Gingras is playing at the highest level they have all year, and are a far better opponent than they were earlier in the year. I'll take Majkut due to the hockey season ending, but honestly this is a intriguing game.
O'Wiley vs. McNamara
61-44
The good news is for Team McNamara is they're peaking at a good time, the bad news they ran into a red hot O'Wiley where they are simply out matched. I can see a situation where McNamara does keeps it close, but Sam has been too good for O'Wiley not to pick up a win.
Booth vs. Manzi
67-39
So in this 1-2 you'd think I'd pick it to be closer. Well I've been informed many of the Booth squad will not be in attendance. This isn't the real Booth team therefore I don't see this being a real game. Had the full team been there, I still probably would have picked Manzi, but in far closer game. It would have been far more intriguing, but with who is projected to show up, I'm sorry I just see no way this ends close.
Hecht vs. Strauss
44-43
I honestly can't give you a reason why I have this game so close, truthfully I think Strauss is probably a 10 point better team. I just having a gut feeling about Team Hecht this week, and my gut is right about 30% of the time sooooo. That being said Strauss have proved week in and week out, I'm predicting a poor shooting game for them where they bounce back in the final 3 minutes and pull out a win.

3 Point Shootout
So in addition to the all star game we will be doing a "Senior Shootout". To be eligible for this, you must have a birthday in 2000 or 1999, a slowly declining work ethic towards school, and be graduating this year. In less fun words, you have to be a senior. All 39 are welcome to participate and you will be given 1 minute to make as many three's as possible, then after the top 8 will advance and go 1 vs 1 in a mini tournament.
Playoff Notice

Baller of the Week 11
Winner: Sam Budreau - A league high 41 points and lead his team to win shorthanded against a very solid team
Runner Up: Sam Budreau - Like c'mon that's not okay 41?!?!
Honorable Mentions:
Kasey Griffiths - 26 points and this is the number 1 honorable mention so I this is the "runner up". Not these mentions are in any particular order, just this one.
Kauri Vassell - 18 points and added some range to his game too.
James Wilson - 22 points and really killed it. It's unfortunate this performance didn't get the attention it deserves... thanks Sam, but I see you man you killed it today too.
Elias Jiser - *25 points unofficially, I didn't get to see the book, but he easily had 20 points and played a heck of a game.
Drew Stone - 20 points and really played a heck of game
Max Phonard - 23 Points and almost helped lead a huge upset
Bradley Teduits - 23 Points, for a defensive known player... that's nice to see
Ryan Teduits - 18 points as these two brothers combined for 41 of the team's 66
2nd Tier:
Alex Sellers - Again didn't get the book of my game, but he probably had about 15 points and easily a double double.
Stevie D - 13 points and was the lead scorer in a huge upset today
Peter Eldredge - Forget the points, rebounds alone get him this mention as he's played the best he has all year
Avi Jivananx - 12 points and hit three straight threes to give Gingras a lead when they were down
Charlie Willis - 12 points on an efficient day
Runner Up: Sam Budreau - Like c'mon that's not okay 41?!?!

Week 11 Results
Guys... we only have two weeks left :/ anyway here's how it all went down.
Manzi vs. Hecht
61-35
This was a one score game with two minutes left in first half, it was only 7 at the break. I can't even describe how it happened, in a quick flash, just out of nowhere, it was long gone. This is what Team Manzi so unstoppable, they're so explosive. They played the best second half I've seen all year.
Majkut vs. McNamara
42-41
The upset of the day is right here. It wasn't like Majkut even played horrible either, it wasn't there best, but it wasn't bad by any means. They did however have virtually a full squad and McNamara still was able to pull it out. This was a 5 point game with about 8 seconds left and Majkut quickly went down got a quick layup stole the inbound and hit another layup. Why they didn't at least try to get it behind the arc I don't know, but nevertheless McNamara was the better team and really earned the win.
Gingras vs. TeDuits/Estes
66-60
Admittedly this was a far closer game than I thought it would be. The Ryan Teduits, Avi Jivanonq trash talk lived up to the hype as they both played a big role when their respective teams were playing their best in the game. Team Gingras had a small lead in the first half but TeDuits/Estes dominated the second half. Gingras was able to cut it close, and did make a close last minute run, but in the end it was TeDuits/Estes that pulled it out.
Booth vs. Meyers
53-36
This game was a little closer than the stats show, but that being said Booth won the game convincingly. They clearly had the rebounding edge and with this win they officially have clinched a first round bye. Meyers did play better than they have in the past two, but still clearly need Joey back if they want to see any form of success.
Bernard/Hastings vs. O'Wiley
64-53
Holy Sam... kid balled out. I don't like spoiling baller of the week in the game results but come on. I didn't get to see this game, but I heard there was a lot of fouling and it wasn't team Bernard's best game. Vassell came back in a big way today, but it wasn't enough to knock of Sam's ridiculous day.
Zolomon vs. Southwick
48-45
I don't think I've ever seen a closer game of basketball period. The biggest lead for either side was 5, once and for I'd say about 75% of the game it was one score. There were probably about 10 lead changes and no team held the lead for longer than 4 minutes. This was a battle. In the end some big time defense led Zolomon to a must needed win for them. Southwick drops their second stright after back to back heart breaking losses.
Manzi vs. Hecht
61-35

Week 11 Predictions
If anyone understands this reference I'll be happy. Let's get down to the nitty gritty.
Manzi vs. Hecht
61-50
I think this one will turn out close than it seems. Team Hecht is playing pretty well, but at the end of the day Manzi is the best team in the league, and they'll show it again this week.
Majkut vs. McNamara
47-31
It all depends on who shows up for team Majkut, but as long as Riley Curran is there I like team Majkut's chances. However this could be a big time prove it game game for McNamara. I just like McNamara's odds.
Meyers vs. Booth
61-47
One team has lost once, one team hasn't won yet, why should things change this week. Sorry Meyers, Joey will make a big difference y'all know it.
Gingras vs. TeDuits/Estes
55-43
The trash talk between Avi Jiaioebrf;awoe and Ryan TeDuits has been truthfully entertaining. That being said while both teams are playing great, I think Teduits/Estes is too hot to cool off right now.
Southwick vs. Zolomon
55-53
This should be close. I'll tell the story now, Zolomon will have 6 players, and even Southwick will out rebound them, however the pure shooting of Team Zolomon will finally come through again and just guide them to a win.
O'Wiley vs. Bernard/Hastings
59-52
I think this one will be close all throughout, and in crunchtime O'Wiley will just pull away. This is easily the matchup of the week as both teams have been playing great down the wire and are both second half teams. I just like O'Wiley due to the way they've been out hearting teams. I think they find a way this time around
Manzi vs. Hecht

Week 11 Power Rankings
I know I made schedule and I broke it, my apologies, good news is these are now out and predictions and updated standings will be very soon to follow.
13. Meyers (-)
0-9
I don't need to go into detail about this team. I don't want to hit them while they're down. Last week was clearly a tough week for them, and the scoreboard showed it. The status on Joey Femia is noteworthy for this team. A source (him) told me that me that he would not be playing next week, but next week, after the week off, he is questionable, but closer to playing. This team needs any sort of spark they can get and Joey might be the spark they need for the playoffs. For now they sit at the bottom and it would take a prayer to knock off the one loss Booth team tomorrow. We'll see what happens to them with Joey, but for now they sit at the bottom.
12. McNamara (-)
2-7
I know they lost by 30, but it's not as ugly as it seems. It wasn't pretty by any means, but that score says a lot more about how well TeDuits/Estes played rather than how they played. The good news for them is they put up 47 points against a good defensive team. They've struggled with offense all year, and they took some positive steps in their game. The bad news is they let up 77. They have prided themselves on their defense all year, and they didn't have any of it last week. They were more passive last week than the Patriots were in the superbowl. If they can carry over what they did on offense and go back to the defense they've played all year, they'll be rising.
11. Hecht (-)
2-7
We'll start with the positive here. they played a good game last week. It wasn't their best, but it wasn't anything they should hang their head over. They played a Booth team really tough, and they kept it close all throughout. This team has been playing good teams tough all year and just can't seem to finish. It'll be interesting to see what they can do against team Manzi, because even though Manzi is the better team, they played Booth to the wire. Who knows, if the press is working for them, they can play with anyone. This team is playing well, and it's maybe a lower seed that you don't want to match up with come playoff time.
10. Gingras (-)
2-8
I promise I'm not just keeping everyone in the same spot the next team will move don't worry. While we're talking about moving, this team should be moving next week for sure. They're playing the best they have all year, and last week they came out with unstoppable fire power. When a team starts on an 18-0 run, it's either an offensive explosion, or a defensive show. It was defense for them. The much needed defense for this team is the element they need to succeed. The rebounding is some of the best in the league, and they're now starting to click on both sides of the ball. They didn't rise this week because other teams really balled out, but next week that may not be the case.
9. Majkut (-1)
4-6
This team can be something special when all of their guys show up. Too bad that hasn't happened since week one. They finally got their hockey players back for a week, but then they didn't have their catalyst Riley Curran. They played a Bernard team really tough whistle to whistle and even though they lost by double figures. The issue on this team is chemistry. They still haven't developed the trust in one another that they need to be successful. My advice to them, watch the San Antonio to pick up some ball movement tips. If they can learn to use each other, they can be lethal.
8. Zolomon (-1)
4-5
Remember that time Zolomon had more than 5 players? Well I don't. It seems every week we only have 5 every single week. Their biggest strength is their fast break offense, and there is nothing harder then running the fast break with no subs. They're biggest struggle right now is the half court offense. They play stagnant, and they struggle to score outside of the fast break. We saw in the early weeks how dangerous this team can be at full strength, but it just hasn't happened since week 2. This team is very capable, and with a favorable schedule in the final three games, they could be heading into the playoffs riding a very hot streak, even despite the lack of game commitment.
7. Southwick (-5)
6-4
I really didn't want to over react and drop them this far over one loss, but it says more about the teams above them than the teams below them. They took an overtime loss to a hot and cold team, and they played them tough. They're a confusing team, and they have a game this week against Zolomon to prove that last weeks lost was just a fluke. I thought this team would rely on shooting heavily to succeed on offense, but that's actually not the case. They play very balanced and it's been working for them well. Don't look at this seven ranking as a big drop, look at it as a big gain for the teams below them.
6. O'Wiley (+3)
4-5
This was a team I wanted to move up even more, but couldn't due to the level of play of the teams above them. They proved that there is no quit in them. After blowing a lead last week, they completely rewrote the story and forced a blown lead on the other side. They shoot the ball incredibly, and when they don't connect they have two big men to really pull down the boards. Over the past weeks they've been a completely different team, and you have to admire the fight this team has. They're a hard team to read right now, but the eye test says they're poised for a rise, and could be a scary first round matchup.
5. Bernard/Hastings (+1)
7-3
I was worried with the upcoming schedule that the loss in the previous week would spiral them down these rankings. Then they buckled down against a pesky Majkut team and proved what they were really capable of. They hit some big time shots late, and looked lethal on the defensive end. They play one of the most intriguing games next week against a peaking O'Wiley team where a win would do dividends for them. They play with a lot of energy and hustle, and they're a team to keep an eye out for to end the perfect Manzi season. I'm excited to see how they respond, and if they can finally get the two spot they've been after.
4. Strauss (+1)
7-3
My stats guy (Jacob Booth) pointed out something very interesting to me today. He informed me that even though this team won, they actually dropped in the standings due to head to head tiebreakers. It really doesn't get much more unlucky than that. The good news for them is they played pretty good last week, and they still control their own destiny in earning the bye. This team rebounded the daylights out of the ball. I really like the way this team is playing, and even though they haven't been playing their absolute best as of lately, they're still playing very solid and good enough to win. They're a scary team.
3. TeDuits/Estes (+1)
5-4
This team is good enough to be number two, but the record is holding them back a little bit. They are playing their best right now and it's really good timing. I dare you to point out a flaw in their performance last week, as last week was one of those games that would have beat anyone in the league. They play strong on both sides of the ball and they are honestly a really scary team moving forward. They've proved themselves against teams they have to, but have lost some weird one's along the way. I personally think this team is the league runner up favorite, and the only reason they're not the title favorite is because Team Manzi exists.
2. Booth (+1)
8-1
I've been sleeping on this team and to be completely honest, I'm not sure why. They're the best rebounding team in the league, and they only have one loss to their name. They're kind of taking the Bernard title as they are playing down to their opponents, but this formula has been working for teams (Southwick Bernard/Hastings) and getting them wins. Last week was a good week for them against team Hecht and they bended but didn't break at the end of the game. They are the real deal, and are a legitimate to knock off the undefeated Manzi.
1. Meyers (+14)
13-0
I'd like to take this time to wish everybody a great holiday break. I know there's a Nicaragua trip coming up with a few rec ballers going, so I hope everything goes great there.
13. Meyers (-)
Baller of the Week 10
Baller of the Week: Sam Budreau - 30 Points, overtime forcing three, and was the biggest factor in ending a 6 game win streak.
Runners up: The Connor Estes Ryan TeDuits combo - My original idea was to give Connor baller or the week and Ryan runner up, but the Sam had to go be clutch and ruin things, but this works too, Connor had 28 and Ryan had 20. These two combined for more points than their opponent so hats off to them.
Honorable Mentions:
Elias Jiser - 24 and almost kept the streak alive
Jack Blount - 16 points and unofficially but very likely 16+ rebounds
Charlie Willis - 19 points, kids been great all year, I'm happy now he finally get mention for it
Patty O - 16 points, and while Sam had the spotlight, quietly Patty played a huge role in ending the streak as well
Garrett Solomon - 16 Points and a few highlight passes to go along with it.
Honorable Mentions Tier 2:
Zach Millet - 14 points
Alex Sellers - 14 points
Matthew Heinser - 13 points
Jake Scharn - 13 points
Andrew Door - 11 points, 111 rebounds
Ben Majkut - 14 points
David Meyers - 13 points
Drew Stone - Had like 13 points which is below average for him, but the main reason he is on here is he fouled out one of the best defenders in the league with ease.

Week 10 Results
I apologize for the delay, but here is the post schedule for the week
Baller of the week: Tuesday
Power Rankings: Wednesday
Season Award Ladder (My opinions, not official in the slightest) - Tuesday/Wednesday
Weird Comparison Post - Thursday
Predictions: Saturday
Zolomon vs. Strauss
62-48
It seems to be the same story every week for team Zolomon, they have 5 players, and lose. Team Strauss played solid on both sides of the ball. They didn't do anything over the top spectacular, but just played an all around solid game of basketball. They got a comfortable lead from the start and held it throughout.
Teduits/Estes vs. Mcnamara
74-44
So um... yeah. The whole story is told by the score. One team shot lights out and one team did not. I had to double check and make sure this score was accurate, it was. Team Teduits is peaking at the right time, and scoring 70+ on one of the best defensive teams in the league is remarkable.
Southwick vs. O'Wiley
66-63 (OT)
Team O'Wiley watched there game of the year designation taken away from them, and they were like, hang on, we'll take that right back. They were down 6 with about 45 seconds left, then a bucket, a stand, and another three sent it to OT where Sam Budreau played hero. Adios 6 game win streak, and hello O'Wiley rise.
Hecht vs. Booth
53-47
This was actually a heck of game as well that got slightly overshadowed by the game on the other side. It was close all throughout, and the feared Hecht press even gave them a shot with 40 seconds left to get to a one possession game. They weren't able to hit and Booth was able to walk a away with a bye clinching win.
Bernard/Hastings vs. Majkut
46-35
So this looks like a pretty one sided score, but actually it was really close. With three minutes left it was a one point game. With about 1 minute left it was still kind of competitive, then all of a sudden Bernard/Hastings was up 11. I don't know how it happened it just kind of did. Maybe a near half court buzzer beater by James Hastings at the end of regulation had something to do with it.
Gingras vs. Meyers
55-40
This game had first win potential for team Meyers.... then they went down 18-0 in the first 6 minutes of this game. After that, even though team Meyers won from that point, it was never really a game. Big win for team Gingras picking up their second of the year, while team Meyers does get Joey Femia back next week most likely.
Manzi vs. Bye Week
60-52
The bye week played pretty tough on offense and on defense, but the fact is Manzi was just too dominant and they picked up a MUCH NEEDED win before playoffs.

Week 10 Power Rankings
Are we really in week 10? wow... that's crazy, anyway here's some power rankings and enjoy the superbowl. The Panthers will be right back to take it from y'all next week.
13. Meyers (-1)
0-8
It seemed like it was coming together, it seemed like they were primed for their first win of the year. They were playing with heart, and they looked far better than they did week 1. Then... they played this week. and got obliterated by a struggling team. The good news for them is, Joey Femia may make his return this season. He's 100% out of this week, but next week he may make his second debut. It'll take a lot of pressure off of David and they can play a better brand of team basketball. There's something magical about the 13 spot, maybe they can turn it around and rise, plus with the return of Joey they can trand way upward before playoffs.
12. McNamara (+1)
2-6
I planned on moving them up a little more, but the fact is they beat the last place team, I'm not completely sold. They have been playing well lately, and I think they are capable of rising even higher next week. They've been one of the league's best on the defensive teams. It's on the offensive end I have my doubts. Whether or not Peter White comes back for playoffs may tell this teams story, but whether he does come back or not, I will say this, they are playing their best at the right time. Another win this week will sell on me on this team for a decent rise, but for now I'm keeping them near the bottom despite the win.
11. Hecht (-1)
2-6
This week was really bad timing for a bye week. They were coming off back to back great games, and this team has been streaking, and up and down this year, and it'll be interesting to see if they come back with that same power they had before, or they struggle after the week off.
10. Gingras (-1)
1-7
The bad news is they didn't come away with the win, the good news is this the third week in a row they have played a good team to the wire. Maybe Meyers doesn't qualify (sorry) but Bernard and Booth are two legitimate teams, so play close with them is a pretty good sign. Obviously at the end of the day these are still losses, and losing by 30 and losing by 6 shows up the same on the standings tab, but in terms of the eye test, this team is starting to play a lot better, and could even make a legitimate run come playoff time. Slowly but surely this team is starting to rise up and look for real.
9. O'Wiley (+2)
3-5
They're one of three teams that I just have no idea how to rank. They played amazing with 5 players against a good team. They should have picked up a win last week, but all of a sudden in 5 minutes they just collapsed. So what do I do now? Where do I put you guys? I decided to kind of keep y'all put, with optimism you will rise. On one hand what they did with just just 5 people against a good team is remarkable. Then again, they blew a huge lead, that they should not have blown, I can't really reward them for that. So I figured 9 is an alright spot for them, but it's very very likely they move up in the upcoming week.
8. Majkut (-)
4-5
This is team number two, where do I put y'all? On one hand, they played a hot team really tough, they had a strong comeback effort and barely couldn't finish them off. They have a few key players playing at their best, and from the eye test they look solid. On the other hand they have now lost two in a row in games they had a chance at, but were unable to finish. Their attendance is just a straight up mystery, and they lost this week to a team they were probably better then. So now what? Is it up or down from here? I think up I lean toward up I'm just not sure, there's a missing piece here I can't quite figure out.
7. Zolomon (-2)
4-4
And we reach team number three. Well guys are you good or not it's really hard to tell. The score of their last game doesn't tell the story of it. That being said, they still lost and lost by a significant margin. This team reaches the enigma point as they have played at extreme highs and extreme lows. The stat remains they are 3-0 with 7+ players and 1-4 with 6- players. Tristan Chase will be an interesting piece to the puzzle of this team. It'll be interesting what they do against Team Strauss who have quietly been one of the elite teams this year. This game could make or break the Zolomon season.
6. Bernard/Hastings (-3)
6-3
Too big a drop? Maybe they lost to a good team, and they didn't play terrible or anything. The fact is the teams above them just played better. They were in a hot chase for that number 2 spot, then an unexpected loss changed everything. All of the sudden this once red hot team seems far less menacing. They now play a hungry Majkut team, and an intriguing matched Zolomon team, and this could put them in a very odd place before the playoffs. They'll need at least one win in the next two weeks to stop them from spiraling towards the bottom. I have faith, I know they're good, but they'll need to show it.
5. Strauss (+1)
6-3
So this team has some pros and cons. The cons are simple, they haven't been playing up to their ceiling in the past three weeks. It hasn't been bad, and even through this "skid" they still have been one of the most consistent teams in the league, and they look fine on the eye test. The good news is they still look they can peak at the right time. This team is playing like the only who has a shot at Manzi. They play the best team basketball in the league, and they are able to grind out wins no matter what the scenario is. They now find themselves in a big time statement game against Zolomon, to see if they can rise.
4. TeDuits/Estes (+3)
4-4
What a confusing team. They seem to win the games they should lose and lose the games they should win. They are the NC State of our league. Sure go on and beat Bernard and Strauss no problem, but Booth and Zolomon? Nah. They look lethal on the defensive end, they're not getting around that, and they balance it out with some offensive contributions and they can make a serious run at the title. This is the only team in the league where it's just as realistic that they get out in the first round as it is they win the championship. I'm intrigued on whether or not they can take advantage of a favorable schdule to finish the season off, as they can enter the playoffs one of the hottest teams in the league.
3. Booth (+1)
7-1
Wow 7-1... is that right? Wow good for them. The scary part is they keep winning these games and I don't even think they're playing their best. They've had some trouble finishing near the hoop. but they rebound better than any other team in the league, so they use that to their advantage. They're hard to get an exact read on. Very similar to Team Bernard/Hastings they play down to their opponents, and play up to them as well, however they seem to win games more convincingly. I think it's time to stop sleeping on them, and accept them as a force in this league. Wouldn't be surprised to see them in the two spot next week.
2. Southwick (-)
6-3
It wasn't the prettiest game they've played, but six straight wins is six straight wins. Elias Jiser is proving himself as a superstar, and this team is proving they can gut out wins. This game had all of the tell tale signs of a collapse, but then there was some magic on their side. Usually when a team blows a lead to send a game to OT, they don't win. There's something special about this team. They have destiny on their side or something I'm not really sure what it is. We'll see if they can keep the win streak alive against O'Wiley, then they have one more against Zolomon before the bye. It'll be interesting.
1. Manzi (-6)
12-0
Should we wait for the season end or should we just call it now? (I'm trying to jynx y'all if it's not obvious). There's a lot of buzz about the Southwick 6 game win streak, but lowkey Mazni is on a 9 game win streak. They're just in a tier of their own, and I don't see them losing. You never know though, teams like Teduits/Estes and Strauss, have the better chemistry, and Southwick and Booth are both playing at their best late, anything is possible. As for this team however, they should take it as a huge compliment that I'm using their power rankings spot to encourage other teams that there's a chance they don't go undefeated and to jynx them.
13. Meyers (-1)
0-8
It seemed like it was coming together, it seemed like they were primed for their first win of the year. They were playing with heart, and they looked far better than they did week 1.
