Game Picks: Week 3

Hill (2-0) vs. O'Malley (2-0)-- Saturday, 8:00am @ LA
This should be a fast paced game, as neither team has a lot of size, so I'd expect a lot of fast-break points to be scored. Let me be clear, I think O'Malley is the better team, but I'm feeling an upset here. The Hill Bros. have been playing basketball all vacation, while the core players on Team O'Malley have not. That, coupled with the early start time, leads to a sneaky win for Team Hill.
Hill 62 O'Malley 60

Calderan (1-1) vs. Werner (1-1)-- Saturday, 9:20am @ LA
Game of the week. Both teams will look to push the tempo, meaning there could be a lot of threes from Mark Lavallee. But on the inside Curran Huff and Matt Plausse will control the boards. I predict Devin Goudey comes close to a triple double in an overtime win for Team Werner.
Werner 64 Calderan 61 (OT)

MacLeod (1-1) vs. DeLuca (0-2)-- Saturday, 10:40am @ LA
After a big win in week one, Team MacLeod got a rude awakening in week two. It should be interesting to see how they rebound against a DeLuca team that has underachieved through the first two games. I would expect Tynan MacLeod to have a big game as usual, but I think Team DeLuca's deeper bench will be the difference in getting their first victory of the season.
DeLuca 51 MacLeod 46

Debreceni (0-2) vs. Wright (2-0)-- Saturday, 1:20pm @ MSN
I am officially crowning Ryan Sheehan as the best 3rd-round pick in league history, just sayin'. The half-court trap that Team Wright uses creates turnovers, and AJ Wright causes a match up problem for Dustin McEvoy, which prevents Team Debreceni from keeping this one close.
Wright 57 Debreceni 43

Fotino (0-2) vs. Dawson (2-0)-- Saturday, 2:40pm @ MSN
Team Fotino has the size to match up with Team Dawson and keep it close. I think Mike Devarenne has a big game. But ultimately Team Dawson has the focus to buckle down and play defense down the stretch, whereas Team Fotino does not...
Dawson 55 Fotino 49

Mahan (0-2) vs. Stevens (0-2)-- Sunday, 9:00am @ MSS
No Doug Rosa, Greg Preston, and possibly me for Team Stevens. Say what you want, but if I play I think we win, if I don't I'll say we lose. I'll see how I feel in the morning.

Hegeman (1-1) vs. Icenogle (0-2)-- Sunday, 10:15am @ MSN
No Anthony Cotoni for Team Hegeman. Team Icenogle had some success with their full court press in week 2, so I would expect them to go back to it this week. I think it will keep it close, but a solid game from Greg Naughton is the difference in a win for Team Hegeman.
Hegeman 43 Icenogle 38

Jarboe (2-0) vs. Stewart (2-0)-- Sunday, 10:15 @ MSS
The size of Team Stewart versus the athleticism of Team Jarboe poses an exciting matchup. The Noah Burkholz--Mark Robinson tandem should have a solid game. However, I think Team Jarboe will look to fast break and dictate a quick tempo, which will deflate Team Stewart.
Jarboe 46 Stewart 45
