Preseason Power Rankings

1.) Wright

Positives: Devarenne, Wolfe, and Wright form the best trifecta in the league. They also have a very deep bench and are experienced (no freshmen).
Negatives: A little guard-heavy means they could be outrebounded unless Wright and Wolfe become more agressive on the boards.

2.) Calderan

Postitives: Calderan and Lavallee work well together. Although they're not overly tall, they are a very aggressive team and can rebound.
Negatives: Lack of a true point guard could hurt. The bench isn't up to par with other teams.

3.) Bailey

Positives: Their starting five will be one of the best in the league. The core players know eachother well and can work well together.
Negatives: A lot of personalities could interrupt focus. The Wilkinson/Bailey tandem didn't work out well last year.

4.) Lavallee

Positives: Experienced team who will give a good effort throughout. There is not one go to player, but most should be able to hold their own and work well together.
Negatives: Lack of jump shooters could allow defenses to pack it in and give them the three point shot.

5.) Burke

Positives: Without a doubt the biggest team in the league, they have the potential to lead the league in rebounds and blocked shots. Very well coached and have lots of depth.
Negatives: They have a shortage of guards which may result in problem breaking the press or just getting the ball up the court, especially if Zawada isn't healthy.

6.) Stevens

Positives: Some of the best guards in the league. They have high upside but will need to prove themselves first. Should do well running the fast break.
Negatives: As a younger team with four freshman, the newcomers will need to adapt to a faster style of play which may take a few games. Slightly undersized.

7.) Fotino

Positives: Very balanced in terms of ability on paper. On par with Calderan in terms of aggressiveness. Have potential to be one of the top teams, but need to prove themselves first as their are some variables.
Negatives: Being one of the smallest teams in the league they might have trouble stopping the Dhionis's, McEvoy's and Icenogle's of the world. Will need someone to step it up and be the second option behind O'Malley

8.) Dion

Positives: The trio of Finnell, Hurst and McEvoy could be solid. Having only eight players means more playing time for their best players in comparison to other teams best players who have to split time between nine people.
Negatives: If McEvoy makes varsity they are in serious trouble. If they are missing a few people at a game the short bench could come back to haunt them.

i agree with these good rankings. i think burke might deserve baileys spot. i like teh wilkinson bailey combination but i dont think just those two are enough to merit a second place team and the rest of there team is a little weak.

I have no problem saying that Calderan is a more realistic Preseason #1 than my team.
Pleasantly surprised by these rankings.

Wow hahah my team got last place i for sure would have put us in the top 10 i feel like were better than a couple of the teams ahead of us but i guess not. Just gives us more incentive to win. we are a young team. another thing is why is lavallee so high i looked at there team and it definitely is not a top 4 team maybe a couple more spots down other than that pretty good rankings P.J.

I think my team should be ranked last

I think my team should be ranked way higher. We're underestimated. We dont have all stars, but we dont have one kid that doesnt know how to play. Everyone on the team can get it done.
