Power Rankings: Week 1

Time to look back on week 1 and establish the power rankings. Obviously the outcome of a few games has caused me to rethink a few things, so I've had to do a lot of juggling in terms of the rankings. And, no, I didn't just put all of the teams that won in the 1-7 slots, and those who lost in the 8-14 spots, because winning one game doesn't necessarily make you a top 7 team. The number in parentheses is the change from last weeks rank.

1.) Calderan (+1) Record: 1-0
They hung on against a very good Bailey team. But now Paul is hurt so they could be in trouble...
2.) Bailey (+1) Record: 0-1
Lost to the top ranked team, but Bailey was unconscious from 3pt-land in their comeback attempt.
3.) Fotino (+4) Record: 1-0
Beat up on a weak Dion team, held them to just 21 points which could be a season low for any team. Eric Jones was lethal with 16 points.
4.) Wright (-3) Record: 0-1
I still think they have the best starting five in the league, don't quit on them yet.
5.) Debreceni (+9) Record: 1-0
They beat a good Burke team without the Hills. And yes, I'll admit, I'm quite surprised. But they could be significantly better with the Hills, so watch out.
6.) Jarboe (+3) Record: 1-0
They don't have many weaknesses, and they beat a very good team in Wright. If they can beat Bailey, say hello to the top 3... but we'll see what happens.
7.) Burke (-4) Record: 0-1
Obviously I'm surprised they lost to a team previously ranked last, but it was a close game. A few more rebounds or points or steals vs. Debreceni and they would be 1-0 and in the top 3.
8.) MacLeod (+4) Record: 1-0
Came out on fire and out-rebounded Stevens. Cooled off quite a bit in the second half though. If Ames can continue to post double digits points they could be moving up in the ranks next week.
9.) Hegeman (+4) Record: 1-0
Cotoni led the charge as expected and Saiid Arshad helped out. I'm still a little iffy as to whether or not they can get consistent contributions from everyone else.
10.) Stevens (-4) Record: 0-1
Yes the first half was ugly. But a 12-0 run to start the second half and more consistent play is a sign of hope.
11.) Smith (+1) Record: 1-0
They won, but Dawson isn't a great team. If they can beat Fotino I'd move them up considerably, but I just don't see it. It can't be a one man show again like last week.
12.) Lavallee (-8) Record: 0-1
Icenogle was their only offensive weapon with 14 points. Ben Hoffman had 7, and then no one else scored more than 2.
13.) Dawson (-3) Record: 0-1
No one stood out in the offensive category, and they lost to a Smith team which I think was very beatable.
14.) Dion (-6) Record: 0-1
21 points? Yikes. I know McEvoy is a Lions fan... but does his team really need to play like them? (Relax Dustin, I'm kidding).

okay our game wasn't that close we got off to a 15 to 3 lead in the first 6 minutes. We also had a 44 to 31 lead with 7 min to go. our defense was awful in the final 7 and we gave them a run to get back in it. the score in the debreceni game was a lot closer than the score showed it. we at least should have won by 10.
