1. Werner (-) While still undefeated, they are giving Team Forbes a run for their money for worst sportsmanship in the league. Also, only beat a Tornaritis-less Tornaritis team.
2. Barnes (+1) Continues to impress with the St. Pierre duo and Judge. Could face possible sanctions for having a varsity player on their team.
3. Mitchell (+1) You may have thought this was Team Forbes but it has officially been changed to Team Mitchell. I don't think this surprises anyone.
4. Saraceno (+3) Allen is finally playing to the level we expected. That makes this team scary along with the consistent play of Mark DiCaprio Roper.
5. Yanchenko (-3) Freiter decided to take this weekend off and they still only lost by one. We are not worried. We are on to Kidger.
6. Tranfaglia (+2) Impressive win over Kidger. Their size is proving to be troublesome to most teams in the league.
7. Tornaritis (-1) We had to drop them only because they lost, but this team still has the best backcourt in the league.
8. Kidger (-3) After finally working their way up the rankings, this team is back where we expected. We now know who the superior Poitras is.
9. Bonnett (+1) I dunno they beat Gingras, party at the Bonnett's.
10. Dorff (+1) This team will win some games solely off of Wadden's scoring.
11. Gingras (-2) Looking more and more like Week 2 was a fluke for this team.
12. Dawson (-) Maybe next week :)

Week 4 Power Rankings
1. Werner (-) Starting to finally play as well as they were projected preseason. About time that Wirta started making his lay ups. The loss of Matt Straw's mohawk is a disturbing development, almost as disturbing as his layups.
2. Yanchenko (+1) "I have nightmares about trying to guard the players on this team" - Nate Forbes
3. Barnes (+1) Shoutout to Judge for his buzzer beater but this team still squeaked by Bonnett. The return of Varsity All-Star Jacob Barnes should help this team in the future.
4. Forbes (+1) Put up 71 points on a Dorff-less Dorff. You want a cookie? Nate continues his campaign for worst sportsmanship in the league. (Billy played well). Soon to move down in the rankings following their upcoming blowout loss versus Team Yanchenko.
5. Kidger (+4) Were whining all day about how they should move up in the rankings. However, this team is solid top to bottom with no weak spots. Surprisingly, T-Poit and Tim have yet to receive any techs.
6. Tornaritis (-4) To quote last weeks rankings, "Team motto seems to be to put in as little effort as possible while still winning." It appears this strategy has run its course. The tightness of Matt's shirts seem to be restricting his ability to play.
7. Saraceno (-1) They won, but in the most unimpressive way possible. Keep in mind, they still have one win this year.
8. Tranfaglia (-) No shame in losing to a loaded Team Yanchenko, as the rest of the league will soon follow.
9. Gingras (-2) Did they just get a fluky win Week 2? But just ask Jack Battles, it was the ref's fault.
10. Bonnett (+1) They keep losing, but they are keeping it close.
11. Dorff (-1) This team just can't score outside of Jack Wadden. Unless the slack gets picked up or Wadden changes his average to 45 a game, it is going to be difficult to win.
12. Dawson (-) Good news for this team, they didn't move down in the rankings this week. Things will always get better :)

Week 3 Power Rankings
1. Werner (-) After a slow start, Team Werner looked very impressive, especially Wirta and Dingle on the boards. However, Straw's lack of discretion regarding shot selection is quite troubling.
2. Tornaritis (+2) Team motto seems to be to put in as little effort as possible while still winning. So far its worked. A breakout performance from Tammaro gives this team some more balance.
3. Yanchenko (+3) Freiter is proving to be one of the most unstoppable players in the league. If he continues to average 25 points, and Belanger continues to be a spark, no one will be able to stop this team (except maybe Yanchenko's early shockingly poor play).
4. Barnes (+3) Should be renamed Team St. Pierre.
5. Forbes (-3) Not being able to get the win without Billy shows that Nate can't carry this team. No surprise as he can barely carry his own backpack.
6. Saraceno (-3) Have yet to find their grove as Allen adjusts to the level of rec competition that exceeds what he experienced with varsity. Roper continues to provide excellent play along with Styskal.
7. Gingras (+4) Their predicted blowout loss provided this team with some extra motivation and they turned out a solid performance. So in reality they can thank the rec bloggers for the win. Your welcome.
8. Tranfaglia (-3) Losing without Cotoni is no cause for concern. Also, Nick is proving who the better Poitras is.
9. Kidger (+3) Looked very impressive despite missing Carl and Andy. This team has lots of potential and should continue to climb the rankings.
10. Dorff (-1) This team needs to find some scoring options outside of Wadden if they hope to compete. However, there is no shame losing to a loaded Team Yanchenko.
11. Bonnett (-1) Hung with Team Werner for awhile but just couldn't compete on the glass. Naughtons and Griffin are a bright spot for this team though.
12. Dawson (-4) Poor Team Dawson. Even with the debut of Keenan this team couldn't get a win. Shane needs to practice upwards of ten million layups by next week if they hope to get their first win.

Baller of the Week 2
Week 2 Baller of the Week goes to Mike Tammaro for his 24 point performance against Team Tranfaglia. If he can continue this kind of production, it will take a significant load off the Tornaritis brothers. Honorable mentions go to Tyler Belanger, Mark Roper, and Andrew St. Pierre.

Baller of the Week
Week 1 baller of the week goes to Jack Wadden and 26 point performance against Team Gingras. Without him, Dorff would have struggled to break double digits. Honorable mentions also go to Mark Roper, Dylan Dawson, Chris Buzan's clutch threes and Aidan Hoey.

Week 2 Power Rankings
- Werner (-) Eked out a victory over a Jack Allen-less Saraceno team. A measly 6 points from Cedric Wirta has made those that pegged him as “Best Big” look foolish.
- Forbes (+1) Pulled out an impressive victory despite the shockingly poor play of Nate Forbes. Aidan Hoey’s good performance puts his name in the running for “Best Big”.
- Saraceno (-1) Losing without Jack Allen or Greg Saraceno is to be expected for this team. Alex Keast has also complained of shoulder pain after carrying this team over the weekend.
- Tornaritis (-) Squeaked out a win over half of Team Yanchenko. However, if the Tornaritis brothers can actually be bothered to try, this team will be tough to stop.
- Tranfaglia (+2) We didn’t see this game but somebody might have maybe said they could have won?
- Yanchenko (-) This team will be feared once Nick Freiter stops whining about “phantom” injuries and the rest of the team finishes their vacation.
- Barnes (+1) They only moved up because Dawson had to move down. However, Jacob Barnes’ scouting will come in real handy later in the year so watch out.
- Dawson (-3) Where to begin... Their one “varsity” player (Shane) showed what Coach Woods has been teaching his players over the years. But the surprise play of Dylan Dawson gives this team hope to move up.
- Dorff (-) Unless Wadden continues to score at such a high mark, this team will struggle to score.
- Bonnett (-) Beat a Femia-free Kidger team. Congratulations.
- Gingras (+1) Played Dorff tough without the Battles clan showing that this team has some hope especially with Torgerson’s performance.
- Kidger (-1) Surprisingly, it looks like T-Poit will actually show up to games. This is very bad news for Team Kidger supporters.

Pre-Season Power Rankings
- Werner- Has a nice combination of three point shooting (Pang and Werner) and the best big man in the league (Wirta). Should also be solid defensively with Straw and Buzan’s athleticism and Dingle’s size. The major question mark surrounding this team is how neither Wirta nor Dingle can dunk, despite being able to touch the rim without jumping.
- Saraceno- With the surprise late addition of Jack Allen, Saraceno is poised for another deep playoff run. Keast and Styskal should supply solid wing play. However, Saraceno has yet to win a single game without Nick Freiter.
- Forbes- Once again Team Forbes finds themselves near the top of the Pre-Season Power Rankings and once again they will find themselves near the bottom by the end of the season. Led by the wing play of Billy Mitchell and Quintin’s brother, along with the solid contributions from Hoey and Krikorian, this team should certainly compete. **Beware** of bringing sisters and girlfriends to games as this team has Tim Hilbrunner aka “Mista steal yo girl”.
- Tornaritis- See team name for explanation of rank.
- Dawson- This team has many weapons: Varsity caliber play of Shane Dawson, athleticism of Keenan Kimetto and Pre-Season rookie of the year favorite Mark De Binder. But will they be able to score when Dawson in on the bench? Expect a significant decrease in production if Kimetto loses the mohawk.
- Yanchenko- Led by Pre-Season co-MVP favorites Nick Freiter and Eric Yanchenko, this team combines shut-down defending with excellent coaching. Their only weakness is the suspect commitment to the team from Riley Rainville’s beau.
- Tranfaglia- Has a complement of inside and outside presence with Zach Cotoni, Justin Watt and Jimmy Tranfaglia. With the confusing situation of having only one Poitras, this team could benefit from more headbands and technical fouls.
- Barnes- The St. Pierre duo will certainly have to carry the load for this team. But when they are off the floor, expect scoring to be a struggle.
- Dorff- Led by the lone dunker in the league (or so he says), Dorff will have to rely on Jordan’s athleticism and Jack Wadden’s scoring to compete. This team may struggle though because of their lack of team chemistry.
- Bonnett- The unproven backcourt of Matt Naughton and Kevin Connerty could prove to work well but the uncertainty makes them fall in the rankings. But if this team does win it will have to rely on old man Brendan Meyers showing the young bloods the ropes.
- Kidger- Back to back years Kidger starts at the bottom of the Power Rankings. Despite expecting strong play of Geoff and Carl Zimmon, this team may have difficulties overcoming the technical fouls amassed by Tim Colantuoni and Tyler Poitras.
- Gingras- Coming into the draft with an entire starting line up, this team was limited to begin with. While they may have solid defense led by Jack Battles, their unproven scores may keep their point total low during the year. The only way this team will find success is if Torgerson plays out of his mind.
Don’t forget to comment your unwarranted complaints and few compliments.

First Round Playoff Predictions
Mahan vs Tranfaglia:
Mahan should run away with this one assuming that both teams have most or all of their players. We're looking for a triumphant return of Austin Hourani, an all-time great, to rec ball. I'm expecting him to lead his team through at least the first round. If Jason Pang and O'Grady keep their hot streaks going, it will be extremely hard for Tranfaglia to stop Mahan from scoring.
"We gon' shock the world!" - Austin
Walsh vs Bonnett:
Bonnett has a clear advantage in terms skill level. Walsh has been struggling to play as a team and if they want to win, they are going to need to work together. If Greg Preston and Ryan Doody show up and play the games we know they can, they should win fairly easily.
Saraceno vs Deluca:
Assuming Danny Howes will be back for Deluca, they will be a very hard team to beat in the playoffs. Saraceno is going to have a tough time containing the trio of Meemoo, Nolan, and Danny. I don't see Saraceno repeating their run from last year and I think Deluca will move on.
Bailey vs Werner:
If Team Bailey finally stops playing like trash and plays at the level they are capable of, they should be able to get the W. However, this will be a hard fought battle, and will be close the whole game. Nevertheless, Bailey should come out victorious. - Austin

Baller of the Week (Week 6)
A Deluca sweep last week.
Saturday: baller of the week is Myles Markham for a 14 point performance in a win over Saraceno. He has been a huge factor in the late season push for Deluca. Congrats Meemuu!
Sunday: this one goes to Nolan O'Hara putting up a huge 21 point game in a massive win over Werner. The trio of O'Hara, Howes, and Markham proved they'll test any teams defense. Congrats Nolan!

Power Rankings (Week 5)
1. Team Bailey (+1)

3. Team Stewart (-2)
"We will find out if they are a good team after tomorrow" -Myles. Team Stewart is dependent on the success of Quintin and Joey. A bad game by either one of them spells trouble.
4. Team Dorff (+2)
Dorff has a lot of height, which plays to their advantage on the rebound front. Owen T and Alex Keast play well together, and Jordan and Bryce bring height to the table. Two time varsity athlete anthony resca provides solid defense to this championship caliber team.

8. Team Saraceno (-4)
If Freiter does not perform well, neither does team Saraceno. The inequality of play time also brings them down a bit in the power rankings.
9. Team Tranfaglia( -1)
"They're still a good team" -Austin
10. Team Kidger (+1)
"I agree we as a team are terrible and should be kept at the bottom of the power rankings." -Team member Andy Femia

11. Team Werner (-2)
Lack of rec ball experience and big men keep them from getting that first W. But who knows, maybe winning that one first game will turin it all around for them.
12. Team Mahan (-2)
With the retirement of first round draft pick Austin Hourani, RIP Team Mahan.

BOTW (Sunday Games)
Sundays baller of the week goes to Owen T who led team Dorff to a pivotal win over Team Gingras. He picked up the slack that is usually led by Andrew St. Pierre when St. Pierre was shut down by defensive power Evan Bunis. In a game that came down to the wire, Owen won it for his team. Congrats

Tougher than Nails
Id just like to acknowledge Connor Johnson for his toughness today. He suffered a harsh knee dislocation that is going to hinder his season, but his composure through the injury is something that I respect immensely. Sorry to hear that you're going to miss a few weeks, and I wish you a speedy recovery. Stay strong Connor

Baller of the Week (Week Three…Belated)
A little late on this one but baller of the week for the third week of this rec ball season goes to Andrew St. Pierre. He had 20 points and controlled the court in an important win over Mahan. Jimmy Tranfaglia gave him some competition by putting up 18 against Werner.
Baller of the Week (Week Four)
Baller of the week goes to Austin Hourani. He led his team to a victory tallying 19 points, including a few crucial buckets. We regret to announce that Austin will be having surgery soon, forcing him into early retirement. He will surely be missed but not only team Mahan, but the whole league. Undoubtable a rec ball hall of famer, Austin epitomizes the spirit and dedication of rec ball week after week. We wish you a speedy recover and hopefully team Mahan will have you back come playoffs. Congrats Austin!

Playoff Dynamic
Despite the overwhelming support form the players from the league for seeding based of record, the coaches have decided to seed the playoffs based on the following.
- Top 4 teams will get a bye in the 1st round (based on winning percentage).
- Top 2 teams will be in different brackets (to avoid #1 going against #2)
- Remaining 8 teams will have their 1st round games decided by a random draw (all teams make playoffs)
- Teams with the same record (top 4) will be decided based on head-head. If teams are tied and didn't
play each other, then we'll have to flip a coin.
- Playoffs will be single elimination. In other words, you lose, you're done. Playoffs have the same playing
rules as the regular season. That is, equal time for everyone on your roster.
- Calderan trophy will be presented to winner of Championship game.

Week Three Predictions
Mahan vs. Dorff
Battle of the Bigs. Dorff by a few buckets.
Gingras vs. Deluca
Gingras. Although they're missing a few players so it may be close.
Bonnett vs. Kidger
Bonnett by quite a few. They know how to run the court.
Werner vs. Tranfaglia
Probably the closest matchup of the week. The blog committee is split on who is going to win. Austin says Tranfaglia. Mike M. says Werner. Mike G claims we will see the first tie in rec ball history. Its that close.
Stewart vs. Walsh
Stewart will stomp all over Walsh and the boys.
Bailey vs. Saraceno
Big Game James is expecting a season high 4 points to lead the charge for Team Bailey.

Power Rankings (Week Three)
1. Team Stewart (-)
Team Stewart hasn't shown the league anything that would put them below number one. Although there is some controversy surrounding "equal" playing time.
2. #TeamDave (+1)
With all around good play, theres nothing stopping them from taking that number one spot.
With all around good play, theres nothing stopping them from taking that number one spot.
3. Team Bonnett (+5)
Team Bonnett has an all around solid team. They can match up to just about anyone and their help D is "killer." -Austin
4. Team Saraceno (-2)
With Freiter on the team, they can't not be a contender.
5. Team Walsh (+2)
Leading the leagues in both technical and flagrant fouls, a calmer approach to the game would do them well. Still, they've shown impressive play so far.

6. Team Dorff (+4)
With addition Andrew St. Pierre, Team Dorff now has another offensive threat that provides another dimension to their already strong defensive game.
7. Team Gingras (-1)
Their guard play is among the best in the league, but when matched up against the taller teams of the league, they're going to have to bring the A game.
8. Team Tranfaglia (+1)

8. Team Tranfaglia (+1)
"They're a good team" -Austin
9. Team Werner (+2)
Team Werner may be young, but they have a lot of basketball experience. They may not be leading the league in wins , but they sure are winning in smiles.
10. Team Mahan (-6)
Two disappointing losses have plummeted them to 10th place.

11. Team Kidger (+1)
They haven't show us enough to move them up more than one spot.
12. Team Deluca (-7)
They have not shown up to play either week.

Baller of the Week (Week Two)
Nick Freiter dropped 27 points to give his team the victory over team Walsh. And an honorable mention to Danny Kessler who single handedly outscored all of team Kidger. Congratulations Nick!
