Interview With Dean McCann
Q. In your opinion, who is the best player in the league?
Dean: Me. 12 points in the first half this week, but I'm just warming up.
Q. If you could trade for one player, who would it be?
Dean: Dan McGuinness. All around solid player, and he passes.
Q. Walk us through your stellar performance last week.
Dean: Made a few threes, made some lay ups, and passed the ball. I got some solid assists.
Q. What team is the best in the league?
Dean: Team Dave.
Q. What would you like to improve about the league this year?
Dean: Id like a longer season so we could play every team before playoffs.
Q. What is the key to your success?
Dean: You gotta warm up with the long sleeves. Its a given.
Q. What is the most overrated team in your opinion?
Dean: Team Stewart. Easy meat.
Q. Any additions thoughts?
Dean: The league is going to have to step up its game against Team Dave because we are an unstoppable force. Undefeated.
Thanks Dean

Baller of the Week (Week 1):
I don't think there is any competition here for this week. Although good games were had by Dean McCann, Andrew St. Pierre, Eric Yanchenko, and Michael Gingras, This week's award goes to Team Stewart's Joey Stewart. He had a huge game for his team leading them to victory over Tranfaglia. He totaled 24 points after scoring his teams first 14. Congrats Stew.

Pre Season Power Rankings
1. Team Stewart
Clearly one of the strongest teams in the league, Stewart will be bringing the leadership of Quintin and Joey combined with a solid squad. They have other good scoring options as well. Athleticism is definitely this teams strong suit and could very well force the pace of the game to be very fast.
2. Team Saraceno
Saraceno can be really good this year. This team has maybe the best coaching in the league. Great strategy with Nick Freiter as a first round pick. They have lots of good potential in their players, it’s just whether they will play well together or not. If some players can step up and be a threat from behind the arc, Saraceno will be a well rounded team who will win many of their match ups.
3. #TeamDave
Great all around team. They have lots of skill in many different areas. Bailey and Hilbrunner can control the paint, while Murphy and Marken can take the ball up (as well as hit crucial threes when they’re on their game). Dean McCann and Pete Aumeis will come in great handy for the point guards, for they both know how to play and are smart with the ball.
4. Team Mahan
Height? Yes. Ball handlers? Decent. Shooting? Maybe. With number two draft pick Austin Hourani teaming with the Hubers and Ben Lutkevitch, they are going to be a force under the hoop. Good passing will lead to good point scoring. However, Austin cannot be the only factor to this team. Ben Lutkevich has great potential to add to the team, and both the Pangs can shoot the lights out when they are hot. Team Mahan will dominate the boards with the Huber brothers and Austin, and their team’s veteran status will hopefully lead Team Mahan to their best season yet.
5. Team Deluca
With debatably the best coaching in the league, this is a good all-around team with very solid depth. Myles and Nolan had great seasons last year and if they repeat that and other players step up to help produce some offense this team could be tough to beat.
6. Team Gingras
Definitely a sleeper team for the league. This team may be young and lack height, they will win with their ability to dominate offense and play a tenacious defense. If they can shut down they drive, they will be extremely successful this year. Great coaching with their ability to draft the way they did. This team will go far in the playoffs.
7. Team Walsh
Team Walsh needs to play a tight defense, for they lack a lot of good shooters. Brogan can play point while Kevin sinks threes. It is up to the coaches’ later round picks to contribute to the offensive game and make shots. They have some serious sleepers on their team.
8. Team Bonnett
If this team works well enough, they have great potential. Dan Mcguinness is going to have to dominate the game and become the leading point scorer, and the young guns of the team may have to step up to provide some support for the seniors.
9. Team Tranfaglia
Zach Cotoni has to have a big year for this team. Tyler Belanger will contribute his part on offense, and with tight defense, they have good chances to win games this year. It is all up to later round picks to make plays on the court.
10. Team Dorff
Although they may have some height on their side, Dick Dorff’s squad lacks the depth necessary for rec ball success. They will be good under the hoop on offense and defense, but that will not be enough. They lack a dominant scorer who can maintain a lead, and Bryce is going to need to put up numbers. Team Dorff may be a sleeper, but I need proof.
11. Team Werner
Team Werner is extremely young. It seems like they have good chemistry with nine sophomores, which can hopefully translate to some good basketball. However, this may not be enough to beat the more veteran teams.
12. Team Kidger
With no seniors, Team Kidger lacks the bench depth to keep a lead. Yanchencko is going to have to be money with the ball and consistent from the 3 point line if they hope to keep it close. If they want to have a successful season, all of their players are going to have to make some big plays and put up some big numbers.

Power Rankings
1. Dawson (+1)
Team Dawson has confirmed that they are one of the best teams in the league with their 3-0 start.
2. Tornaritis (+10)
Also, off to a fast start, Team Tornaritis has made the biggest leap in the power rankings. Over the first three weeks, they've climbed from the basement, and proved they belong at the top.
3. Stone (+1)
Despite a narrow loss to one of the top teams, Tornaritis last week, team Stone has proven their worth with two wins including a thrashing of team Gingras in week two.
4. Tranfaglia (+6)
The Allen brothers have brought team Tranfaglia to a surprising undefeated record out of the starting gate. It will be interesting if they can maintain their unblemished record much longer.
5. Stevens (+6)
Although missing key players in their first few games, others have stepped up such as Jeremy Gaissl, to carry team Stevens to a 2-1 record to start the season.
6. Werner (--)
Team Werner has been pretty much as expected. Their versatility and championship coaching experience have made them an above average team in the league.
7. Saraceno (-6)
My preseason number one team has not lived up to the potential I believed they had. Without Kessler, they have begun the season with a 1-2 record.
8. Gingras (--)
They may say they play "above the rim", but they have yet to prove to me that they are an above average team. A team that I expected to have good chemistry has had instances of inner turmoil.
9. Stark (--)
Team Stark got their first win in over a year in their first game, but have dropped two games in a row since. We'll see how they look Saturday when they take on team Stevens.
10. Mahan (-5)
From what I have seen of team Mahan, they are not as bad as their record reflects, and could easily bounce back and have a successful remainder of the season.
11. Bailey (-4)
It took until the third week in the season to win their first game, but maybe they have shaken of the rust and can build off of last week's win.
12. Debreceni (-9)
Although a senior laden team, Debreceni has yet to get it together this season and have fallen to an
0-3 record. They have also fallen 9 spots in the power rankings, the most of any team.
13. Deluca (+1)
They were really missing Charlie Burke at the beginning of the season, but he has since been replaced by Jean Perrissin, the talented import from France.
14. Dorff (-1)
Team Dorff still has much to prove with their unimpressive start to the season, having not won a game yet.
Team Dawson has confirmed that they are one of the best teams in the league with their 3-0 start.
